Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs), and Indian Tribal Organizations can provide information about transportation options specific to local communities. Older adults and their caregivers can call the Eldercare Locator at 800-677-1116 or visit their Web site at http://www.eldercare.gov/ to identify these resources in their area.
2-1-1 provides callers with information about and referrals to human services for every day needs and in times of crisis. 2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number that, where available, connects people with important community services and volunteer opportunities. The implementation of 2-1-1 is being spearheaded by United Way and comprehensive and specialized information and referral agencies in states and local communities. If you are looking for transportation options in a specific local area, try 2-1-1 to learn about the services options in that area.
